This was a really fun way to start my birthday! Our Visiting Artist today was Jim Woodring - famous for his cartoon character - FRANK.
His talk was strangely disturbing... and encouraging at the same time.
I was really attracted to his line work - take a look at his website to see what I mean - my sketches below don't even hint at how cool his drawings are.
Something I noticed while looking through the art on his website - those little creatures in the bottom right of my sketch notes? They actually FIT TOGETHER! Aaaaaawwww....
