I finally got last year's Inktober project organized and scanned and made into a little comic-zine! You can do a flip-through below...
Since the story is based on a random list of word prompts, the comic can feel a bit random too. But I think it's pretty funny and is quite an adventure.... with only 31 words!
TeddyBear's Adventure in Exotic Egypt starts with TB packing items for her trip, including a backpack full of treats, and some fluffy boots. She explores the pyramids and the desert, and makes friends with some nomadic potato chips. We see her viewing her slide show (and eating some nomadic snacks!) As she roams the desert, she keeps a grungy journal - the hieroglyphs read "TeddyBear was here."
She makes camp in the uncharted desert and finds a tomb with a rhinoceros carving. Yes, Egypt had rhinos a long time ago! They were called "irba" (that's what the glyphs say). They also had scarecrows, although this one is more of a ushabti I think (dolls put in the tombs to act as servants in the after life). TB is bringing it home as a souvenir in the tradition of all great expeditions, along with lots of photos and slides taken with her (my!) Canon AE-1 camera (which is still filled with authentic Egyptian sand to this very day.)
She makes the long drive back to the modern world, climbs onto the EgyptAir jumbo jet, meets the pilot, and a violin (seriously - who comes up with these lists of word prompts!?) We know she's finally back in the USA when she opens her window and sees the Statue of Liberty. Yeah! Home! The End.
I haven't decided yet if she'll take another trip this October - I'm waiting to see the list of Inktober prompts!
