My life, my brain, MY SHOW! I feel like I have been working on this all year and now I am so excited that the OPENING is next week!!!!! Yes, I AM YELLLINGGGG! My house has been covered in art and I learned how to mat, frame, and screw on picture hanging wire. For months. And months. And now it's here! July 12th is the opening reception. Here's some professional looking information from the postcards I made:

And some very cute stickers I made to hand out at the reception:

We are also going to be doing a Creature Workshop on July 29th so you can learn to make your own dysFUNctional friend out of junk and treasures. I'm thinking about doing a Kids' reception too, but at this moment I am so overwhelmed.

Yesterday, Kathleen Dustin and Laura Morrison, my art mentors for the show, helped me hang the show in just two hours. They're pros. I mostly did whatever they told me to do, and then stayed out of their way when they redid everything I had done. I have so much to learn. But the show looks impressive and I hope that people come to see it, and ask me questions, and then buy lots of stuff (so I can justify making more art! And pay the bills).

The show is a "retrospective" so it includes all kind of art from different stages of my career. There's painted furniture, watercolors, colored pencil, Lino cut prints, comics, polymer clay, lots of weird little creatures made from junk and fabric... yet, it all looks like it belongs together in this show.

I'll take some pictures this week and post them for those of you who can't make it here in person. If you are vacationing in New Hampshire or Vermont this summer, or driving through NH to the seacoast or Maine - the gallery is in Contoocook, NH - an easy detour off I-89, near Concord. The Village is very cute with lots of little shops and cafes. And an excellent little gallery called Two Villages Art Society, open Th-Sun 12-4.

Come see my show! 😄
