Yikes - forgot to post this last week! I was having a lot of meltdowns - nope, don't want to talk about them.

The Empathy Monster was... a summary... of what I took away from 2022.

Learning to be a little nicer to myself and ask "What do you need?" It's what I ask my cat, Minou, when she seeks me out and starts mewing. (Usually the answer is food or attention.)

And it's what I ask my daughter when she comes up to my studio with that face that makes me think I have to solve all her problems. (Usually the answer is food or attention. Or permission to take a break and play Zelda).

Give it a try. Look in the mirror and ask "what do you need?" (If your mirror actually answers, you have other problems to deal with!)

Usually the answer is food or attention. But the answers can range from "a lobotomy," "a shot of whiskey," to "an assistant" to "a hug" or "a cookie".

What do you need?
