What have I been up to lately? Not much (sarcasm)... just... sold my house... and I'm moving to Concord. OMG. My brain is melting and I have no capacity for handling anything else. I've lived in this house for 30 years and raised two kids here. If that's not enough, I'm downsizing from 3400 square feet to... adorably teeny condo. I think I could fit my new condo INTO my current studio.

If you want to see how cool (creatively cluttered) my house is, here's the listing:

My house is really big!

The new condo has marble countertops and stainless appliances, but what do you think impressed me more? When I told my son that it had very high ceilings, he said,"perfect - you can fit your Lego city!" Yesssssss!!!!!

This is just one of 3 "Libraries" we need to pack up and find space for. I'm trying to cut back on the books, but... BOOKS!

And the Studio...

... what in the world do I do with all the stuff in the Studio!?

No, I'm serious. If you have any idea of how to handle the studio, I could really use some help. For the first part of this project, I had to remove all the "clutter" in the main rooms of the house in preparation for the photographs and then the Open House. With the help of a friend, we boxed up enough books, Lego, kitchen stuff, and more Lego - to fill a medium sized storage unit. And I've been selling off so much stuff - snowblower, treadmill, couch, hand-painted furniture... but there is still so much more remaining.

In the new Studio, I thought I would focus on just my comics, drawing, and painting. And my online store. It would be nice to start fresh in my new home and turn the living room into a little studio. And then I was invited to be part of the mixed media show (see the previous post) and I suddenly was glad I hadn't gotten rid of all the "junk" I use to make my creatures. And I was asked to do some more classes. And a school visit/workshop. So I have to hold on to all the teaching supplies too... So much for my Plan.

Honestly, this is too much adulting for me, even on a good day. And it gets even more complicated because I can't move into the new place until the current owner finds her own new place. I'll have to move out, put everything in storage, and find some temporary living space for a month.

But - YES! - I am amazed at what has been manifested in such a short time. And - YES! - I am sooooo excited about starting a new life! I can finally let go of this "family-sized" house and see what I can make of my talents. There's a lot of opportunities - groups, galleries, events - in Concord.

If you have any packing and moving tips - or extra boxes and bubble wrap - I'd really love to hear from you. (Gold stars and cookies are also appreciated).
