The Gnu was varnished and then taken off by truck to be clear-coated. The Gallery at Wingdoodle is SOOOOO empty. Boohoo. But the Gnu looked so lovely. I am proud of the work all 9 artists did! Here are a few more shots.

People have been tangling like crazy! I was at Wingdoodle til 11 last night working on the shading. The nose needs some color, then the whole thing gets varnished and then it's farewell! There will be a big Gnu Preview party at theNew London Inn on May 24th at 5pm.

We have begun! I've been working on all four knees (gnees!) down to the hoofs. My inspiration is Mendhi henna tattoos. Deb's been working on the gnose, eyes and forehead. Very cool. Some of the face will eventually be in color too. Liz has been working on the shoulders. And

The gnude gnus are very shy and a little hesitant to step out onto Main Street. Coaxing, coaxing... he seems to like being outside. We try backing him in the door. Shelley takes control, but ends up with a bum deal. A little wistful, but I think he is adjusting
